Suzanne Danhaur

Dr. Danhauer is Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Well-Being in the Office of Faculty Affairs and tenured Professor/Vice Chair in the Department of Social Sciences & Health Policy in the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM). As a clinical health psychologist, she worked clinically with oncology patients and has conducted patient-focused research in mental health, cancer survivorship, symptom management, and integrative health interventions (>100 publications).

Dr. Danhauer has mentored and coached many faculty, staff, and learners. As the former Associate Director of the Office of Women in Medicine & Science, she directed career and leadership development programs for women faculty. She completed a fellowship through the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women (2023). She is also an Associate Certified Coach (International Coaching Federation) and a Gallup-certified strengths coach.

As Director of Faculty Well-Being (2019-24) and her current role, she is engaged in well-being efforts across Advocate Health. She completed the Stanford WellMD/WellPhD Chief Wellness Officer course (2022) and serves on the Program on Leadership and Character team at Wake Forest University. She is excited to lead multiple current programs that support/value faculty well-being and promote a sense of belonging in the WFUSM.
